FRONTIER DAYS

July 19, 2019 Jan & Joe's Travels

After 38 years of living in Tucson & never going to the Rodeo ~ we had to go to the Frontier Days in Cheyenne to see one.  Actually it was rather awesome.  Took some 783 photos in about an hour & a half.  Should have used a movie camera.

BEER ONLY!!!

“MC” for the event!!

NATIONAL ANTHEM.

Wild horses that are use in this year’s Rodeo.

Various wagons use from the late 1700’s thru the 1800’s.

The Cadillac of wagons in the late 1800’s.

WOMEN’S BUSTING BRONCO EVENT!!!

OUCH!!!

SHE WAS ALRIGHT!!!

DIDN’T FARE TO WELL.  BUT NO AMBULANCE REQUIRED!

THEY ALL HAVE TO BE CRAZY TO DO THIS!!!

I WAS GETTING SORE, JUST WATCHING!

STAGE ROBBERY STOPPED BY THE US ARMY.

TEENAGE TRAINER WITH HER HORSES!!

COWBOY TRICK RIDER!

WOMEN ROMAN STYLE RIDERS!!  LOOKS SO EASY!

THEY BREED THEM YOUNG IN WYOMING!   5-9 YEAR OLDS IN BULL RIDERS EVENT.

A RETIRE WILD BULL THAT DIDN’T WANT TO BUCK ANY LONGER, WHO BOUNDED WITH A 9 YEAR OLD BOY.  NOW THEY’RE BEST OF BUDS!!

CHARIOT RACES!!

NOT QUITE SURE THE NAME OF THIS EVENT, BUT IT’S A THREE BOY TEAM, AGES 5-9.   TWO TO HOLD THE WILD PONEY, WHILE THE OTHER TRIES TO GET ON AND RIDE.  NONE OF THE TEAMS FARED TO WELL & MADE IT.  TOUGHER THAN IT LOOKS.
